Can I stay active when I’m injured?
I get this question all the time. A lot of people even fear coming to get their injury looked at because they think I’ll just tell them to stop!
Well, it depends on what you’ve done to yourself, but the good news is that planting and doing nothing is one of the worst things you can do when you’re injured.
You need to be smart about what you continue to do, and you need to listen to your body because it tells you what your limitations are, but using an injury as an excuse to lie in bed for a week and binge-watch Netflix is the sure-fire way to stiffen up, and getting the bed sores -- so, can I stay active when I'm injured??
Get up and GO!
Instead of making things worse, get up, walk around, stand in some water, squeeze your bum cheeks together or have a hot shower – and if it persists for more than a few days, and you’re concerned about it, book in and we can try to get on top of it with a more specific plan.
