SPORTS INJURIES

Taping knee osteopathy

Sports offer many benefits for children, but sometimes injuries happen. These can result from trauma, muscle tension, or weaknesses in the body, which osteopathic treatment can help to address.

As primary healthcare practitioners, we are trained to assess and identify specific injuries, whether they involve muscles, ligaments, joints, or tendons, and we refer for further investigation if needed.

After a bone fracture has healed and plaster has been removed, osteopathic treatment can be especially helpful in aiding the body’s recovery by addressing muscle wastage and supporting the return to full mobility and strength.

Osteopathic treatment may be beneficial in managing a variety of common sports-related conditions, including:

  • Rehabilitation after fractures

  • Sprained ankle

  • Plantar fasciitis

  • Osgood-Schlatter and Sever’s disease

  • Groin or hamstring strain

  • Lower back injuries

  • Patella tracking disorder

  • Shin splints and compartment syndrome

  • Calf strain

  • Achilles tendonitis

  • Osteitis pubis

  • Corked thigh

  • Shoulder strain

  • Tennis elbow

At Whole Health Osteopathy, all of our practitioners are equipped to deal with and manage your child sporting injuries.
